Continuing Formation of Priests
Far more than providing occasional programs
for priests, continuing formation is a ministry to the whole
person and life of the individual: his intellectual, emotional,
spiritual, and ministerial needs. It relates to the priest/religious
from ordination/profession through retirement. It is especially
important at certain moments of transition in his life when
the acquisition of new skills or outlook is necessary. Such
elements mean that continuing education is truly continuing
formation.

Three elements are central to this
vision of continuing formation:
- Ministry to the whole person of the priest/religious.
- Ministry to the priest/religious at transitional
periods of ministry.
- Ministry to the communal and universal
dimensions of
priestly/religious life.
