Diocesan appointment announced

Sister
Barbara Cline, F.S.E., will join the staff of
the Diocese of Grand Rapids as director of the Office
of Catechesis effective August 1, 2008. Her responsibilities
will include providing programming, services and consultation
to assist parish, school and auxiliary ministries in their
catechetical responsibilities; coordinating catechetical
certification and promoting leadership formation opportunities;
curriculum assessment and evaluation; and initiation of
doctrinally sound programming and ministry which supports
cultural diversity and inclusion of all people. |
A Franciscan Sister of the Eucharist, Sister Cline currently
works in the Early On system of the Clinton County Regional
Educational Service Agency (CCRESA) as the training and technical
assistance manager of Early On Training & Technical Assistance.
Sister Cline has provided retreats and instruction for adults
seeking entrance into the Church. She has given talks, presentations
and provided ongoing classes on Church documents, the Catechism
of the Catholic Church and numerous topics of our faith.
Sister Cline has extensive experience working in early intervention
and special education for disabled, at-risk and traumatized
or abused children, from infants to high school age, in both
the United States and in places such as West Africa and the
Middle East.
She holds the following degrees: a Bachelor of Arts from
Viterbo University – La Crosse, Wis.; a Master of Arts
in Child Development, specializing in Infants/Toddlers from
Michigan State University – Lansing, Mich.; and a Ph.D.
in Special Education Administration and Early Childhood from
Michigan State University. Sister Cline is currently working
to complete her Master’s in Theology.
