Deaneries

To foster pastoral care though common action, several neighboring parishes can be joined together into specific groups called deaneries or vicariates. The establishment of deaneries or vicariates is optional. It is the bishop of a diocese who has the authority to establish them. There are nine deaneries in the Diocese of Grand Rapids.
