Funeral arrangements for Sister Winifred Wheeler, S.J.

Sister Winifred Grace Wheeler, S.J., age 75, of Grand Rapids, died Wednesday, March 28 at Mercy Health Saint Mary's Hospital in Grand Rapids. The daughter of Harry Tabor and Loretta (Miner) Wheeler, she was born on May 15, 1942 in Detroit and entered the Felician community on June 19, 1960, taking her first vows on August 15, 1962 and her final vows on August 6, 1968. In July of 1973, she became a vowed member of the newly formed community of the Servants of Jesus.
 
In Grand Rapids, Sister Winifred served the parishes of Blessed Sacrament, St. James, and the Shrine of St. Francis Xavier & Our Lady of Guadalupe where she was an educator, school principal, and director of music. 

Funeral Arrangements

Visitation:
Tuesday, April 3, 2018 from 1-7 p.m. with Scriptural Wake and Sharing Service beginning at 7 p.m. on Tuesday.

with Father José Luis Quintana, as celebrant, and Sister Winifred's brother, Father John P. Wheeler, O.S.B, as con-celebrant.
 
Rite of Committal will take place later at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Southfield.
