Diocese recognized for excellence in public relations

Image: Four gold-level awards received by the diocese during the 2018 PRoof AwardsDuring the West Michigan Public Relations Society of America's (WMPRSA) Annual PRoof Awards Gala on Tuesday, May 1, the Diocese of Grand Rapids was recognized with four gold awards for excellence in public relations tactics and campaigns. The event was held at The Venue at the Highlands in Grand Rapids. WMPRSA's PRoof Awards recognize practitioners who successfully use skill, creativity and resourcefulness in addressing communication challenges.

The work of the diocesan communications team and FAITH magazine editors including Annalise Laumeyer, Greg Ghering, Pat Mish, JoAnn Fox and Tuyet Tran, was recognized as follows:

  • In the area of Campaigns in the Community Relations category, the diocese received a gold award for the overall campaign to open St. Robert Catholic School in Ada.
  • In the area of Tactics in the Single Issue Publication category, the diocese received a gold award for the Catholic Schools: Bridging Faith and Future strategic plan narrative.
  • In the area of Tactics in the Magazines (Print) category, the diocese received a gold award for FAITH Grand Rapids magazine.
  • In the area of Tactics in the Annual Reports category, the diocese received a gold award for the annual diocesan report published in the October 2017 issue of FAITH.
