Unbound Live Free! comes to Grand Rapids Feb. 22-23: Mitchell shares how deliverance ministry transformed his life

“I felt like I was fairly well put together,” says Mitchell, an active member of Parish of the Holy Spirit in Grand Rapids. “I felt like I was doing pretty well in my life, and that I was pretty open to God.”
Then he attended a Live Free! Unbound conference in Southeast Michigan, where he was asked: “Is there anything you want to bring to the Lord?”
The question caught him off guard. Then something moved within him, and the words spilled out. “I don’t feel I am loved,” Mitchell recalls saying. “God put the words in my mouth in what I needed healing and  prayer over and deliverance from. It just shook me. I started crying.”
It was as if a weight was lifted from Mitchell’s shoulders, and the realization that God loves him as he is has been freeing. “I’m happier,” says Mitchell. “My kids notice a difference in me. I’m more approachable. I’m not afraid to share how I’m feeling.”
Mitchell will be helping behind the scenes when Unbound comes to Grand Rapids. A Live Free! Conference will be offered Feb. 22-23 at Our Lady of Consolation Catholic Church in Rockford, presented by John and Michelle Kazanjian of Ann Arbor-based Renewal Ministries.
Mitchell attended the conference earlier this year at the invitation of his friend Sean Nolan, a teacher
at West Catholic High School who wanted to bring Unbound to Grand Rapids. Mitchell attended seminary with Sean’s twin brother, Father Scott Nolan, pastor of St. Stephen Catholic Church in East Grand Rapids.
Unbound is described as a deliverance, healing and transformational ministry.

Participants listen to presentations and pray about the “Five Keys” developed by author Neal Lozano of Heart of the Father Ministries:

  • REPENTANCE AND FAITH: A change in mind that results in a change in life as you surrender to Jesus Christ
  • FORGIVENESS: You can receive the fullness of God’sforgiveness only when you allow it to flow through you to others
  • RENUNCIATION: A declaration that you no longer agree with the lies and influences of the enemy buried inside your heart
  • AUTHORITY: Each child of God carries the authority of the Father in the name of Jesus
  • THE FATHER’S BLESSING: Every blessing that the Father spoke to Jesus now belongs to you.
The keys can help participants “identify what’s going on in your life, give it over to God and accept him into your life,” says Mitchell. For him, “being able to just turn that over to the Lord was incredibly raw and incredibly real.
“It truly transformed my life,” he said. “It’s an experience I think that every Catholic needs to experience.”
