Merry Christmas from Superintendent Dave Faber

“Therefore the Lord himself will give you this sign:
the virgin shall conceive, and bear a son,
and shall name him Emmanuel.” -Isaiah 7:14

Entering the fourth week of Advent, we heard these words at Mass on Sunday. We know Isaiah’s prophecy was fulfilled in Bethlehem more than 2,000 years ago when Christ came to dwell among us, and as we prepare to celebrate Christmas we ask Christ to dwell anew in our hearts.

It is our privilege to share with our students the light of Christ which illuminates learning and life in our Catholic schools. Our students’ accomplishments in the classroom, in creative endeavors, and in athletics are all gifts we receive because of Christ’s great love for us, and we are grateful.

Our schools and parishes are hard at work through the Bishop’s Catholic Schools Initiative to serve our students and families well, and to welcome more young people and their families into this educational ministry. With two consecutive years of enrollment growth, we’re putting the finishing touches on our Catholic Schools: Bridging Faith and Future strategic plan to chart a course for further strengthening our alliance of Catholic schools. Click here to learn more about our strategic planning, and please keep this effort in your prayers.

Merry Christmas!
